We will mail it right away! We’d like to extend to you a warm welcome to our second issue of My Herbs magazine – a new publication that aims to reveal the amazing natural world of herbs.
In our second issue, we reveal ways to preserve the natural bounty of autumn and prepare for the colder winter months. Find out where to face your indoor plants so they flourish throughout the fall. In addition, we offer tips and tricks to help little ones beat those back-to-school blues (and fight off seasonal illnesses using natural methods). Beyond flu season and winter colds, the use of antibiotics is on the rise and fear of drug-resistant diseases is growing. But no need to panic just yet; there are three herbal alternatives to antibiotics that could help.
Our final issue of volume 2 is quite a mixture of adventure and exploration of the world's polar regions, deserts, oceans, mountains and jungles.
In our Guest Editorial, Leon McCarron ventures in to the hills of Jordan as part of his 1000-mile journey on foot, across the Middle East, when he encounters an unexpected musical interlude on a lonely hillside.
Planning is essential for major expeditions, even more important to have several back-up plans in case the first one or two, or three do not pan out as expected. Mark Wood brings us behind the scenes of planning for a polar expedition.
Technology in the classroom has been touted for more than 2 decades as the next big thing. Here, Joe Grabowski, whose nascent organisation "Exploring by the Seat of Your Pants" has demonstrated that indeed technology can be the medium by which exposure to new and exciting educational contexts can be brought in to the classroom from the real-life connections with explorers, conservationists and scientists in the field.
Former Marine Commando, John Sullivan gives us an introduction to what it takes to survive in the desert using the skills and experience he has built up from his time in the forces, leading expeditions and working with film crews on location.
What does it take to circumnavigate the globe on one's own, what drives an adventurer to take on and complete such demanding challenges? Erden Eruc takes us with him on his life's journey across oceans and continents.
Finally, we catch up with emergency medical doctor Claire Grogan and Mark Hannaford of World Extreme Medicine to discuss the fast-paced world of extreme medicine.
Festive fever strikes this month with pages of parties to pick from, plus as Remembrance Day approaches, we salute some of the country's custodians of history with a closer look inside HM Tower of London, Royal Air Force Museum London and the Imperial War Museum North.

* KTM FREERIDE E-XC – electric is the future?
* SIX DAYS TO GLORY – RUST’s Tom Sagar made the podium at the ISDE, here’s how
* RALLY RAID PRODUCTS – bigger than you might imagine!
* ENDUROGP – RUST goes to the races
KTM helped save the planet in October, by putting on a launch with no riding. So no petrol consumed. Only the bike was electric… ahh, maybe we’re missing the point? Meanwhile Tom Sagar was consuming mucho fuel and tyres at the ISDE, but given he stood on the second step of the podium it was worth the cost. Rally Raid Products used to race, but now they put their expertise into helping adventure riders create stronger bikes. And EnduroGP came to the UK for an all-new format of enduro. Pretty impressive it looked too.
All this and a little bit more in Issue 31.
Happy riding and reading.
